Evaluation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation process in logistic and inventory division at PT Mekar Armada jaya

PT. Mekar Armada Jaya, sebagai salah satu pemain di industri karoseri, memiliki banyak material yang dibutuhkan untuk memproduksi produk-produknnya. Logistik dan inventori sebagai salah satu bagian penting di dalam perusahaan, harus mendapat perhatian yang lebih karena logistic dan inventori memainkan peranan yang penting dalam proses aliran material. PT. Mekar Armada Jaya telah membeli sebuah informasi sistem yang baru, Enterprise Resource Planning, dari SAP. Sistem informasi yang baru dapat mengintegrasikan semua fungsi yang ada di dalam perusahaan. PT. Mekar Armada Jaya juga telah membeli beberapa modul sistem informasi untuk mendukung proses produksinya. Peranan sistem infor masi menjadi lebih penting karena data yang ada di dalam perusahaan mengalir melalui sistem informasi tersebut. Penelitian ini menganalisa proses implementasi di dalam perusahaan terutama di divisi Logistik dan Inventori dan juga menganalisa permasalahan yang timbul setelah proses implementasi berlangsung. Terdapat beberapa metodologi dalam menganalisa proses implementasi di dalam perusahaan, seperti System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) dan Framework for the Application of Systems Techniques (FAST). Sela in dikarenakan sistem informasi tersebut sudah dibeli oleh perusahaan dan metodologi FAST menyediakan analisis langkah demi langkah untuk implementasi software aplikasi, sehingga penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi FAST. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan di Divisi Logistik dan Inventori yang bernaung di bawah Departemen PPIC di PT. Mekar Armada Jaya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan observasi. Kuesioner juga digunakan untuk mendukung analsis yang dilakukan oleh penulis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah permasalahan yang timbul di Divisi Logistik dan Inventori disebabkan oleh pihak konsultan yang memaksakan untuk masuk ke tahap go-live. Permasalahan yang terjadi juga disebabkan oleh kurangnya komitmen dari pihak manajemen tingkat atas sampai dengan karyawan di tingkat operasional.

PT. Mekar Armada Jaya, as a player in assembly industry, has many materials that needed to produce its products. Logistic and inventory as one important part in a company, has to get more attention because logistic and inventory play an important role in material flow process. PT. Mekar Armada Jaya already bought a new information system, Enterprise Resource Planning, from SAP. The new information system can integrate all of functions in the company. The company already bought several information system modules to support the production process. The role of information system becomes more important because the data in the company is flowing through the information system/computer. This research analyzes the implementation process in the company especially in the Logistic and Inventory Division and also analyzes the problems that arise after the implementation in the division. There are several methodologies to analyze the implementation process in the company, such as System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Framework for the Application of Systems Techniques (FAST). This research uses FAST methodology to analyze the process of implementation because the information system already bought and FAST methodology provides step-by-step analysis for the application software implementation. The process of collecting data is done in Logistic and Inventory Division under the PPIC department at PT. Mekar Armada Jaya. The collection data is done by interview and observation. The questionnaires also used to support the analysis. The result of the analysis is the problems that occur in the division are caused by the consultant that pushed the company to continue to the go-live stage. The problems also caused by the lack of commitment in the company from top management until the employees in the operation level.
