The Usage of E-Business decision support systems concept in securities company :: A Case in PT Ciptadana sekuritas

Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk mempelajari system proses transaksi (transaction processing system) dari PT Ciptadana Sekuritas dalam membuat laporan keuangan dan proses pengambilan keputusan. Selanjutnya, studi ini juga mencoba untuk membandingkan dan menggabungkan system transaksi yang telah ada dengan konsep E-Business Decision Support System guna meningkatkan capabilitas system transaksi yang telah ada. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa DSS adalah pengembangan lebih lanjut dari Computerized Management Information System that telah dibuat untuk lebih interaktif dengan pengguna atau user sehingga terjadi integrasi antara sistem transaksi, information management dan management support system. Integrasi tersebut akan lebih terfokus pada penggunaan Internet dan teknologi yang berbasis web sehingga akan lebih terkonsentrasi pada penggunaan DSS berbasis web yang disebut Business Intelligence. Business Intelligence yang saat ini dipertimbangkan oleh PT Ciptadana Sekuritas akan diharapkan membantu peran R&D department dalam menganalisa data dari transaksi saham menggunakan analytical tools dari neural processing element yang terdapat di DSS engine. Data yang terkumpul akan didesign oleh DSS menjadi laporan keuangan yang berguna sebagai informasi dalam proses pengambilan keputusan untuk manajemen tingkat atas akan tetapi tidak menutup kemungkinan untuk customer memperoleh keuntungan dari penggunaan DSS tersebut. Narrowcast Server dan Web Server yang terdapat di Business Intelligence akan mempermudah pelanggan atau customer untuk mengetahui perkembangan informasi investasi dan analisanya dengan peranti lunak mereka, sehingga pelanggan akan merasa nyaman dalam bertransaksi dan PT Ciptdana Sekuritas sendiri akan memperoleh keuntungan kompetitif dari penggunaan teknologi tersebut

The purpose of this paper to examine the transaction processing system in PT Ciptadana Sekuritas in the line of financial reporting and decision making. Furthermore, this paper also tries to compare and match the current system based on the concept of E-Business Decision Support System to improve the capability of the transaction processing systems. Research shows that DSS is a further development of Computerized Management Information System that is built to be interactive with users so there will be integration between components of financial reporting for decision making. Based on that, today business application will be hoped to be multi function and that function is integration between transaction processing system, information management and management support system. That integration will focus on the using of Internet and Web based technologies. Business application today will concentrate on the usage of DSS in Web based technology that is called Business Intelligence. Business Intelligence that is considered by PT Ciptadana Sekuritas will be expected to support R&D department in analyzing the data of stock trading transactions or external data by using analytical tools of neural processing element in DSS engine. The data of stock trading transactions or external data will be collected and automatically is designed by DSS to become financial reporting to support decision-making process by using DSS architect. Even DSS provides information for decision- making for upper management level, but today DSS does not close the opportunity for customers to gain the benefit of analysis and information that is provided by DSS. Narrowcast Server and Web Server in Business Intelligence provides opportunities for customers of PT Ciptadana Sekuritas to know up-to-date information and analysis by their own interface tools such as PDA, Computer or handphone so they will feel comfort to do stock trading investment in PT Ciptadana Sekuritas and PT Ciptadana Sekuritas itself will gain competitive advantages to win competition among securities companies.
