Pengembangan jaringan aplikasi MaKxi dengan penerapan Open-Source Linux-Based Virtual Private Network Solutions (OLVS) pada jaringan nirkabel CDMA Flexi :: Studi kasus di PT Telkom Kandatel Yogyakarta

Aplikasi MaKxi adalah aplikasi yang digunakan oleh PT. Telkom untuk melakukan manajemen aktivasi kartu telepon bergerak CDMA Flexi. Untuk meningkatkan kinerja pemasaran diperlukan akses aplikasi MaKxi dari luar jaringan intranet perusahaan (remote office). Dalam penelitian ini diimplementasikan sistem Virtual Private Network (VPN) dengan software Open VPN yang diakses dari jaringan internet nirkabel CDMA Flexi dan dibandingkan dengan sistem eksisting yang menggunakan Remote Akses Dial Server (RAS) berbasiskan sistem telepon kabel tetap PSTN yang diakses dari telepon kabel maupun telepon nirkabel Flexi. Jaringan internet nirkabel Flexi yang menggunakan teknologi CDMA 2001X mempunyai kecepatan akses hingga 153 kbps mempunyai keunggulan dalam hal kecepatan dan fleksibilitas lokasi akses. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akses ke jaringan intranet dari telepon nirkabel Flexi menggunakan konfigurasi VPN dibandingkan dengan menggunakan RAS PSTN mempunyai kinerja availability 35,6 % lebih baik (meningkat 158%), latency rata-rata 261 ms lebih baik (menurun 65%) serta throughput 72 kbps lebih baik (meningkat 580%). Dibandingkan dengan sistem eksisting yang berbasiskan akses menggunakan telepon tetap hasil penelitian ini mempunyai kelebihan dalam hal mobilitas akses dengan performansi yang lebih baik

The application MaKxi was the application that was used by PT. Telkom to do the management activation the wireless telephone ‘CDMA Flexi’. To increase the achievement of the marketing was needed by application access MaKxi from outside the network intranet the company (remote office). In this research was implemented the system Virtual Private Network (VPN) with software Open VPN that was accessed from the network of the wireless internet CDMA Flexi and compared with the existing system that made use of Remote Access Dial Server (RAS) based on PSTN that was accessed from cable telephone and the wireless telephone ‘Flexi’. The network of the wireless internet Flexi that made use of technology of CDMA 2001X had the speed of access through to 153 Kbps had the superiority in the matter of the speed and location flexibility of access. Results of the research showed that access to the network intranet from wireless telephoning Flexi made use of the VPN configuration compared with made use of the RAS by PSTN had the achievement availability 35,6 % better (increased 158%), latency in general 261 ms better (descended 65%) as well as throughput 72 Kbps better (increased 580%). Compared with the system eksisting, results of this research had the superiority in the matter of the mobility of access with the better performance.
