Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efisiensi pembelian energi listrik serta memperlihatkan perbaikan Rasio Operasi di PT. PLN (Persero) Distribusi Jawa Tengah & DI Yogyakarta dikarenakan pengendalian beban dengan mengalihkan penggunaan energi listrik pada Waktu Beban Puncak (WBP) ke Luar Waktu Beban Puncak (LWBP) yang didorong dengan pemberian insentip berupa biaya kompensasi. Juga untuk mengetahui besar kerugian penjualan sebagai akibat kesempatan yang hilang dalam menjual energi listrik dengan tarip lebih mahal pada WBP. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menentukan harga pembelian energi listrik, jumlah energi yang akan dibeli dan biaya total pembelian. Selanjutnya berdasarkan pemakaian energi oleh pelanggan ditentukan pula jumlah energi yang akan dialihkan, biaya kompensasi akibat pengalihan beban, serta berkurangnya hasil penjualan sebagai akibat dari pengalihan beban ke tarip yang lebih murah di LWBP. Dengan demikian pengalihan beban tersebut akan berdampak langsung pada biaya operasi dan pendapatan operasi sekaligus. Terakhir, dibandingkan rasio operasi sebelum dilakukan pengendalian beban dan sesudahnya. Dari hasil analisis ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pengalihan beban akan menyebabkan berkurangnya pendapatan penjualan energi listrik serta ada biaya yang harus dikeluarkan untuk biaya kompensasi, namun pada sisi lain biaya operasi juga berkurang. Bila dibandingkan antara penurunan pendapatan operasi dengan biaya operasi maka rasio operasi setelah pengalihan beban menjadi lebih baik

The aim of this research knowing purchase efficiency of electricity energy as well as to show the improvement of the Operation Ratio in PT. PLN (Persero) Distribution Jawa Tengah & DI Yogyakarta caused controlling of the customers load by shifting the use of electricity energy at the Peak Load (WBP) to the Off Peak Load time (LWBP), be pushed with giving insentive took the form of the compensation cost. The research is carried out decisively the price of the purchase of electricity energy, the amount of energy that will be bought and the cost the total purchase. Further based on the use of energy by the customers, will be determined the amount of energy that will be shifted from WBP to LWBP, the compensation cost resulting from the transfer of the load, as well as the sales revenue reduction as resulting from the load shifting to the tariff that cheaper in LWBP. Finally, the operation ratio before controlling the load will be compared with the operation ratio after load shifting. From the analysis results it can be concluded that transfering the load will cause the income reduction of the sale of electricity energy as well as had the cost that must be spent for the compensation cost, but to the other side, the operating cost will decrease. When being compared between the decline in the income of the operation at a cost of the operation then the operation ratio after the load shifting become better
