Studi sifat-sifat biokemis dan sensitivitas beberapa antibiotika terhadap Isolat Megabacterium dari Burung Kenari (Serinus Canaria) di Yogyakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat-sifat biokemis Megabacterium dari beberapa burung kenari dan kepekaan Megabacterium terhadap beberapa antibiotika. Isolat-isolat murni Megabacterium yang berasal dari 5 ekor burung Kenari dari klinik Dr.drh. Edi Boedi Santosa, MP., diuji pada media biokemis antara lain glukosa, laktosa, maltosa, sukrosa, mannitol, esculin, inulin, sorbitol, indol,MRVP, citrat, urease, TSIA. Selain itu isolat ini juga diuji kepekaannya terhadap antibiotika oksitetrasiklin, klorampenicol, eritromisin, ampisilin, penisilin, gentamisin. Semua pengujian ini diinkubasikan pada suhu 37 C selama 24-48 jam dalam suasana anaerob. Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisa secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelima isolat Megabacterium memiliki sifat-sifat biokemis yang berbeda. Isolat K lambat memfermentasi glukosa, laktosa, sorbitol. Memfermentasi maltosa, sukrosa, mannitol, esculin, inulin. Isolat L lambat memfermentasi glukosa, laktosa, mannitol, inulin, sorbitol. Memfermentasi maltosa, sukrosa, esculin. Isolat I, C, O lambat memfermentasi glukosa, laktosa, inulin, sorbitol. Memfermentasi maltosa, sukrosa, mannitol, esculin. Kelima isolat Megabacterium pada uji IMVIC, Megabacterium mampu memecah asam amino tryptophan, mengurai glukosa, menghasilkan asetil metil carbinol dan tidak menggunakan citrat sebagai sumber karbon Pada pengujian Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA) Megabacterium mengurai glukosa dan lambat mengurai laktosa dan sukrosa dan pada Uji sensitivitas, menunjukkan Megabacterium resisten terhadap oksitetrasiklin, klorampenicol, eritromisin, ampisilin, penisilin dan gentamisin.

The aimed at identifying the biochemistry of Megabacterium of canary bird and sensitivity of Megabacterium to several antibiotics. Pure isolates of Megabacterium of five canary birds taken from the clinic of Dr.drh. Edi Boedi Santosa, MP., were tested for glucose, lactose, maltose, sucrose, mannitol, esculin, inulin, sorbitol, indol, MRVP, citrate, urease and TSIA on biochemical media. In addition, the isolates were also tested for their sensitivity to oxytetracycline, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, ampicillin, penicillin and gentamicin antibiotics. All tested isolates were incubated at 37 o C for 24 to 48 hours in anaerobic condition. The results were than descriptively analyzed. The results of the study showed that the five isolates of Megabacterium had different biochemistry. Isolate K slowly fermented glucose, lactose and sorbitol. It fermented maltose, sucrose, mannitol, esculin and inulin. Isolate L slowly fermented glucose, lactose, mannitol, inulin and sorbitol. It fermented maltose, sucrose and esculin. Isolates I, C, and O were slow in fermenting glucose, lactose, inulin and sorbitol. It fermented maltose, sucrose, mannitol and esculin. In IMVIC test, the five Megabacterium isolates could break tryptophan acid amino, degrade glucose ,produce acetyl methyl carbinol and did not use citrate as the source of carbon. At the Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA) testing, Megabacterium degraded glucose but slowly degraded lactose and sucrose and at the sensitivity testing, it was shown that Megabacterium is resistant to oxytetracycline, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, ampicillin, penicillin and gentamicin
