Penelitian ini bertujuan menunjukkan perbedaan karakteristik kapabilitas kompetitif, prioritas kompetitif dan kinerja bisnis nonfinansial antara kelompok agile dan non agile. Kapabilitas kompetitif meliputi dimensi-dimensi kepemimpinan teknologikal, pengetahuan karyawan, dan jaringan distribusi fisik (kantor cabang). Prioritas kompetitif meliputi dimensi-dimensi kualitas layanan, penyampaian layanan, fleksibilitas layanan, dan biaya layanan yang rendah. Kinerja bisnis nonfinansial meliputi business sustainability, quality of customer interface, dan faktor produktivitas. Sebelum menunjukkan perbedaan karakteristiknya, terlebih dahulu melakukan pengelompokan bank-bank didasarkan pada prioritas kompetitif menggunakan hierarchical cluster analysis yang dinamakan kelompok strategik jasa. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada industri perbankan di Indonesia. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 48 bank dari 128 bank yang beroperasi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pengambilan sampel purposive sampling dalam bentuk judgment sampling, dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mail survey. Hasil analisis kluster terbentuk dua kluster yang dinamakan kelompok agile dan non-agile . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kapabilitas kompetitif, prioritas kompetitif, dan kinerja bisnis nonfinansial antara kelompok bank agile dan non-agile.

The objective of this research is to indicate difference of characteristic of competitive capability, competitive priority and non financial business performance between agile and non agile group. Competitive capability includes dimensions of technological leadership, employee knowledge and physical distribution network (branch office). Competitive priority consists of dimensions of service quality, service delivery, service flexibility and low cost. Non financial business performance include business sustainability, quality of customer interface and productivity factor. Before showing its characteristic difference, the banks are classified into groups based on competitive priority using hierarchical cluster analysis and are called service strategic group. This result was done in banking industry in Indonesia. Sample in research is 48 banks of 128 banks operating in Indonesia. This research using purposive sampling method in form of judgment sampling, and data was collected using mail survey. Result of cluster analysis is two clusters: agile and non agile group. The result of this research indicated significant difference in competitive capability, competitive priority and non fin ancial business performance between agile and non agile group.
