Evaluasi penerapan Sistem Informasi Akademis Jurusan Teknik Elektro Fakultas teknik Universitas Gadjah Mada

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi apakah Sistem Informasi Akademis yang digunakan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna dan memberikan rekomendasi atau masukan terhadap Jurusan Teknik Elektro Fakultas Teknik Universitas Gadjah Mada atau pihak lain yang ingin mengembangkan sistem yang baru sesuai dengan kriteria yang ada pada COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) sebagai standar yang dikeluarkan ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) sehingga diharapkan sistem yang baru tersebut dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dari pengguna. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan pengamatan langsung terhadap obyek penelitian dan melakukan proses evaluasi sesuai dengan ketentuan dalam COBIT. COBIT memiliki 4 domain yaitu planning and organisation (PO), acquisition and implementation (AI), delivery and support (DS), monitoring (M) yang didalamnya terdapat 34 proses yang digunakan sebagai standar untuk melakukan proses evaluasi. Tetapi untuk kasus tertentu, dari beberapa proses tersebut dapat dipilih yang relevan dengan tujuan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini berupa rekomendasi kepada Jurusan Teknik Elektro Fakultas Teknik Universitas Gadjah Mada, dimana didalamnya terdapat beberapa hal yang sebaiknya diperhatikan oleh pihak jurusan pada saat penerapan Sistem Informasi Akademis. Beberapa hal tersebut antara lain tahap perencanaan strategis sistem, faktor keamanan sistem, pengawasan terhadap kinerja sistem. Hal tersebut perlu diperhatikan agar sistem yang diterapkan dapat berjalan dengan baik sesuai yang diharapkan.

The aim of this research is to evaluate the implementation of Academic Information System’s effectiveness in Departement of Electrical Engineering Faculty of Engineering University of Gadjah Mada and also give input or recommendation to them or other party who want to develop new system. Based on COBIT’s (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) criteria that released by ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) as the standard for evaluation process, so that the new expected system can fulfill the consumer’s requirement. Method used in this research is done by conducting direct observation toward the Academic Information System and evaluating the process based on COBIT’s rules. COBIT have 4 domain that are organisation and planning (PO), acquisition and implementation and (AI), delivery and support (DS), monitoring (M). They have 34 processes used as the standard for evaluation process. In certain case, however, some of these processes can be selected which are relevant to the evaluation purpose. The result of this research is a recommendation to Departement of Electrical Engineering Faculty of Engineering University of Gadjah Mada. The recommendation has several important points for the department in applying Academic Information System. Those points are system strategic plan, security system, observation mechanism toward the system’s performance. These factors plays an important role for the success of implementation system
