Kelas potensi rendah memiliki luas terbesar, yaitu 299,486 km², diikuti kelas sedang sebesar 250,004 km², kelas tinggi sebesar 77,512 km², kelas sangat tinggi sebesar 18,85 km², dan kelas sangat rendah sebesar 8,14 km². Validasi model menggunakan analisis Receiver Operating Characteristic-Area Under Curve (ROC-AUC).

Conventional groundwater exploration faces various challenges, such as the need for significant time, costs, and resources. Remote sensing enables the rapid, extensive, and periodic acquisition of Earth’s surface data, while GIS plays a role in integrating, managing, and analyzing various spatial data to support decision-making. Meeting the need for clean water in Pacitan Regency can be achieved by utilizing the available groundwater potential. Therefore, information on groundwater potential in Pacitan Regency is needed. Information on the delineation of groundwater potential zones can be obtained through remote sensing imagery and GIS. The objectives of this groundwater exploration are: (1) To assess the effectiveness of Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS remote sensing imagery and SRTM DEM in identifying key parameters for mapping potential groundwater areas in the Grindulu Watershed, Pacitan Regency; (2) Utilizing remote sensing technology and geographic information systems (GIS) to identify the distribution of areas with potential groundwater resources in the Grindulu Watershed, Pacitan Regency; (3) Testing the accuracy of the groundwater potential zone model against actual field conditions.

The research method used was Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) employing the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results of the parameters determining groundwater potential were integrated with weighted overlay analysis to estimate groundwater potential. Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS imagery and SRTM DEM data were utilized to extract the parameters determining groundwater potential. The results of the remote sensing image extraction yielded parameters such as lithology, lineaments, slope, precipitation, soil type, drainage density, and land use.

The weighted results for each parameter using the AHP method yielded five groundwater potential zones: very low, low, moderate, high, and very high. The low-potential class has the largest area, at 299.486 km², followed by the moderate class at 250.004 km², the high class at 77.512 km², the very high class at 18.85 km², and the very low class at 8.14 km². Model validation was performed using Receiver Operating Characteristic–Area Under the Curve (ROC-AUC) analysis. Validation results hydrogeology atlas an AUC value of 0.878, or 87,8%, which falls into the “good prediction” category. These results indicate that the AHP model, constructed by integrating seven parameters, is capable of depicting the spatial variation of groundwater potential zones in the Grindulu Watershed and demonstrates a high level of agreement with the borehole location data used for validation.
