Analisis perbandingan sistem dan kinerja Open Source Content Management System (CMS)

Seiring dengan perkembangan Teknologi Web saat ini, membuat website bukanlah sesuatu yang sulit lagi, karena cukup dengan menggunakan sebuah Content Management System (CMS), maka hanya dengan beberapa saat website akan dapat dibuat dengan mudah. Permasalahan yang muncul adalah dengan ragamnya jenis CMS maka diperlukan beberapa informasi yang secara akurat agar para web developer dapat dengan mudah memilih jenis CMS yang sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. Penelitian ini adalah dengan mengadakan analisis perbandingan terhadap sistem dan kinerja terhadap tiga jenis CMS yaitu Mambo Open Source, PostNuke, dan PhpNuke. Adapun teknik analisisnya adalah menggunakan perbandingan kualitatif, yaitu Participants Observation dan Case Study. Sedangkan metode proses untuk pembanding yang digunakan adalah Statistik Deskriptif. Dengan melakukan analisis perbandingan terhadap sistem dan kinerja masing-masing CMS, maka dapat dihasilkan beberapa informasi yaitu bagaimana ketiga CMS tersebut dinilai dari sisi kecepatan proses, dan jumlah langkah (step) pada masing-masing indikator, yaitu Installation Progress, User Administration, System Administration, dan Database Migration.

In the present time, the development of web technology has not been something difficult anymore due to Content Management System is an easy-to-use authoring environtment, designed, and allow everybody to manage the structure of the site. However, web developer still needs the accurate information about how to choose the best CMS according to their necessity. This research is using the comparison analysis to the system and performance of Mambo Open Source, PostNuke, and PhpNuke. Furthermore, the kind of research is Qualitative Method such as Partcipants observation and Case study. On the other hand, for the process comparison are using the Descriptive Statistic. The outputs of this research are to give more detail information about time and step for Installation Progress, User Administration, System Administration, and Database Migration for each CMS.
