Peran keberfungsian keluarga dan tekanan teman sebaya terhadap gaya hidup materialisme remaja

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran keberfungsian keluarga dan tekanan teman sebaya terhadap gaya hidup materialisme remaja. Hipotesis yang diajukan yaitu keberfungsian keluarga berperan negatif terhadap gaya hidup materialisme remaja dan tekanan teman sebaya berperan positif terhadap gaya hidup materialisme remaja. Sebanyak 202 orang yang terdiri dari 120 laki-laki dan 82 perempuan telah berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Mereka berusia antara 15-18 tahun dan merupakan siswa kelas 1 dan 2 dari dua SMA Negeri di Kupang yaitu SMA Negeri 1 dan SMA Negeri 5. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala dan kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan fasilitas komputer SPSS for Windows Release 10.0. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi diperoleh nilai F hitung = 69,975, p = 0,000, RX1.2,Y = 0,643, adjusted R2 = 0,407 (40,7 %), ß1 = -0,151, dan ß2 = 0,597. Dengan hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima. Selain itu dalam penelitian ini juga ditemukan bahwa : 1). keberfungsian ayah terhadap gaya hidup materialisme remaja berarah negatif, dengan nilai adjusted R2 = 0,093 (9,3 %), dan ß3 = -0,650; 2). keberfungsian ibu terhadap gaya hidup materialisme remaja berarah negatif, dengan nilai adjusted R² = 0,087 (8,7 %), dan ß4 = -0,630; 3). keberfungsian ayah dan ibu secara bersama terhadap gaya hidup materialisme remaja berarah negatif, dengan nilai adjusted R² = 0,112 (11,2 %), ß3 = -0,431, dan ß4 = -0,386; 4). keberfungsian ayah terhadap gaya hidup materialisme perempuan (22,9 %) lebih besar daripada terhadap laki-laki (2,7 %); 5). keberfungsian ibu terhadap gaya hidup materialisme perempuan (15,9 %) lebih besar daripada terhadap laki-laki (4,4 %); 6). tidak ada perbedaan gaya hidup materialisme antara laki-laki dan perempuan (p > 0,05).

This study aimed for knowing the role of functionality of family and peer pressure to the materialism life style of adolescence. The hypothesis will be submitted is about the functionality of family plays negatively to the materialism life style of adolescence and the peer pressure plays positively to the materialism life style of adolescence. Amounts 202 people consists of 120 boys and 82 girls had participated in this study. They have age between 15-18 years and currently are the students at the first and second grades of two public senior high schools in Kupang, that is SMA Negeri 1 and SMA Negeri 5. Data collection done by used the scale and then analyzed by used the computer facilities SPPS for Windows Release 10.0. Based to the results of regression analysis it could be gained the value F = 69,975, p = 0,000, RX1.2,Y = 0,643, adjusted R2 = 0,407 (40,7%), β1 = -0,151, and β2 = 0,597. Using these results then can be concluded that the hypothesis in this study was accepted. Beside, in this study it could be found that: 1). functionality of father to the materialism life style of adolescence have a negative direct, by the value adjusted R2 = 0,093 (9,3%), and β3 = -0,650; 2). functionality of mother to the materialism life style of adolescence have a negative direct, by the value adjusted R2 = 0,087 (8,7%) and β4 = -0,630; 3). functionality of father along with mother to the materialism life style of adolescence have a negative direct, by the value adjusted R2 = 0.112 (11,2%), ß3 = -0,431, dan ß4 = -0,386; 4). functionality of father on girls materialism lifestyle is more higher than boys; 5). functionality of mother on girls materialism lifestyle is more higher than boys; 6). there’s no different materialism lifestyle between boys and girls (p>0,05).
