Perkembangan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) mendorong penerapan smart farming yang memungkinkan pemantauan kondisi tanaman secara real-time.

The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has accelerated the adoption of smart farming, enabling real-time monitoring of crop conditions. However, the development of IoT-based monitoring systems has primarily focused on technical aspects rather than user interface (UI) and user experience (UX), which play a crucial role in ensuring application usability. This study aims to design the UI/UX for an IoT-based melon-monitoring application using design thinking and behavioral design approaches. The design process followed the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test stages and was evaluated through two iterations using Maze usability testing and the System Usability Scale (SUS). The evaluation results showed an improvement in the prototype's usability, indicated by an increase in the success rate from 91.50% to 97,91%, a decrease in the misclick rate from 59.34% to 29,05%, a reduction in the average duration from 89.76 seconds to 30,88 seconds, a decrease in the dropoff rate from 8.51% to 2,08%, and an improvement in the SUS score from 79.17 (good) to 84,04 (excellent). These findings indicate that the final prototype achieved a higher level of usability and effectively supports users in monitoring IoT-based melon cultivation.
