respons getaran akibat eksitasi operasional.

As bridges age and traffic volumes continue to increase, bridge structures are susceptible to

degradation that may adversely affect their structural performance and safety. Therefore, a

structural condition monitoring method capable of accurately evaluating the dynamic

characteristics of bridges without disrupting normal operation is required. One such approach

is Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) based on Operational Modal Analysis (OMA), which

enables the identification of modal parameters using vibration responses induced by operational

excitations.

The research data consisted of acceleration responses obtained from dynamic testing using

accelerometers that recorded bridge vibrations generated by vehicular traffic. This study aims

to identify the modal parameters of a PCI Girder Bridge by employing a combination of the

Natural Excitation Technique (NExT) and the Eigensystem Realization Algorithm (ERA).

Furthermore, the dynamic condition of the bridge was evaluated by comparing the identified

modal parameters with the results of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis, previous field test

data, and a numerical model developed using MIDAS CIVIL.

The results indicate that the NExT–ERA method successfully identified three dominant

vibration modes with natural frequencies of 3.16 Hz and 3.744 Hz. respectively. The modal

identification results obtained using the NExT–ERA method showed good agreement with the

FFT analysis and revealed only minor changes in natural frequencies compared with the results

of the 2022 field measurements. In addition, the identified modal parameters were in good

agreement with the numerical simulation results. These findings demonstrate that the NExT

ERA method is an effective and robust approach for accurate and efficient modal parameter

identification. This method has strong potential for integration into SHM systems to support

structural condition assessment, numerical model validation, and periodic bridge health

monitoring, thereby facilitating informed decision-making for condition-based maintenance.
