Pertumbuhan dan Perkembangan Kumbang Buas Chilocorus Politus pada Media Tepung Larva Lebah Madu dan pada Kutu Coccus Viridis

2005 | Tesis | S2 Ilmu Hama TumbuhanPertumbuhan dan perkembangan kumbang buas Chilocorus politus Mulsant (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) pada tepung larva lebah madu dan kutu Coccus viridis Green (Homoptera: Coccidae) dikaji di Laboratorium Pengendalian Hayati, Jurusan Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta, sejak bulan Agustus 2004 sampai dengan Maret 2005. Larva C. politus dipelihara dengan pakan tepung larva lebah madu dan kutu hijau C. viridis pada kondisi laboratorium. Suhu minimum laboratorium berkisar 19- 32ºC dengan rata-rata 25,5ºC dan suhu maksimum berkisar 27–37ºC dengan rata-rata 32ºC serta pada kelembaban udara berkisar 74–75% dengan rata-rata 74,5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa larva C. politus tidak mau memakan tepung larva lebah madu sehingga mati dan tidak didapatkan data pertumbuhan dan perkembangan. Larva C. politus yang dipelihara pada kutu C. viridis mampu tumbuh dan berkembang sampai stadia pupa, tetapi gagal menjadi imago. Perkembangan C. politus pada mangsa C. viridis sampai stadia pupa relatif lebih lama dibandingkan dengan pada mangsa Aspidiotus destructor. Daur hidup C. politus pada C. viridis sampai stadia pupa 31-34 hari, sedangkan pada A. destructor 17-29 hari.
The growth and development of predatory beetle Chilocorus politus Mulsant (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) on the honeybee drone and scale insect Coccus viridis Green (Homoptera: Coccidae) were conducted in the Biological Control Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University from August 2004 until March 2005. Larva of C. politus were reared with the honeybee drone food and green scale C. viridis at laboratory condition. The minimum temperature of the laboratory vary 19-32ºC with the mean 25.5ºC and the maximum temperature 27-37ºC with the mean 32ºC and at the relative humidity of 74-75% with the mean 74.5%. The result showed that larva of C. politus did not like eating the honeybee drone so that death and no data of growth and development were gained. Larva of C. politus which were reared with C. viridis prey were able to grow and develop until pupal stage, but not adult stage. The development of C. politus until pupal stage on prey of C. viridis was relatively longer compared with Aspidiotus destructor. The life cycle of C. politus on C. viridis prey until pupal stage is 31-34 day, while on A. destructor 17-29 day.
