Sektor bangunan menyumbang
perbandingan perilaku struktur one-way TCC slab berbasis glulam Keruing GL56h
aplikasi sistem komposit.
The
building sector contributes a significant share of global greenhouse gas
emissions, driving increasing pressure to adopt low-carbon construction
materials over the past two decades. The Timber–Concrete Composite (TCC) system
offers a structural solution that utilizes the complementary behavior of
concrete in compression and timber in tension through mechanical shear
connectors, resulting in effective bending stiffness that substantially exceeds
the capacity of either material alone. This study focuses on a comparative
analysis of the structural behavior of one-way TCC slabs using Keruing glulam
GL56h combined with f'c = 30 MPa concrete, aiming to determine the shear
capacity and slip modulus of notch and screw connectors, analyze the effect of
connector type on the composite factor and effective bending stiffness, assess
serviceability limit state compliance including natural frequency, and compare
the dimensional efficiency of TCC systems against reinforced concrete slabs and
solid glulam beams.
The
analytical procedure was conducted across seven connector configurations, notch,
90° and 45° screws at 6/8/10 mm diameter, across three span configurations (4×2
m, 6×3 m, and 8×4 m). The analytical techniques include the gamma method per
CEN/TS 19103:2021 and EN 1995-1-1:2004 Annex B to calculate (EI)eff, iterative
section sizing until an optimum dimension satisfying all strength and
serviceability requirements is obtained, and direct cross-system comparison
under identical material and loading conditions.
The
results indicate that notch connectors yield the highest composite factor
(?=0.999) and the most dimensionally efficient sections across all loading
scenarios. Natural frequency (f? ? 8 Hz) is proven to consistently govern as
the critical design constraint across all systems and spans, superseding static
deflection as the dimension-controlling parameter, and the dimensional
advantage of TCC over solid glulam disappears at the 8×4 m span as stiffness
demand grows proportionally to L?. In conclusion, the notch connector at the
4×2 m span represents the most dimensionally optimal configuration, and this
study provides the first technical baseline for adopting locally produced
Keruing glulam GL56h in composite slab applications.
