Computed
suatu objek tanpa merusak material.
filter cosine. Objek uji berupa silinder step wedge aluminium
yang direkonstruksi menjadi citra tampang lintang, kemudian dianalisis
menggunakan parameter Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) berdasarkan nilai grey
biaya lisensi.
Computed
Tomography (CT) is one of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods used to
obtain information about the internal structure of an object without damaging
the material. The quality of CT reconstructed images is an important factor in
detecting density variations and internal defects. CT image reconstruction is
generally performed using commercial software; however, the high licensing cost
has encouraged the use of open-source software as an alternative. This study
aims to compare the quality of tomographic images reconstructed using the
commercial software Octopus Reconstruction and the open-source software TomoPy.
The reconstruction was performed using the Filtered Back Projection (FBP) method with a cosine filter. The test object was an aluminum step wedge cylinder reconstructed into cross-sectional images, which were then analyzed using the Contrast-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) based on the gray values of the object and background Regions of Interest (ROIs). The results showed that Octopus Reconstruction produced higher CNR values and shorter reconstruction times than TomoPy. Nevertheless, since the differences were not substantial, TomoPy has the potential to serve as an alternative CT reconstruction software for research purposes, particularly because it is open-source and free of licensing costs.
