The negative portrayals of the media narrative regarding crime rates led to polarisation in government behaviour towards immigrants. Frequently, the media targets a specific group or ethnicity, and the negative portrayal of the media sparks national security concerns, which tends to fuel assumptions regarding the rising number of crimes related to immigrants. The societal view of immigrants has been deeply embedded in their cultural and social perspectives, shaped by a long historical context, and has become an inherent aspect, especially reflected in their laws and regulations. The government significantly influences societal perceptions, leading most individuals to support its legitimacy. These perceptions generate the development of its foreign policy on immigration and reinforce its national security. This research study will analyse the influence of media narratives of immigrants and how these portrayals are considered a driving force of their intersection in their domestic and foreign policy regarding immigration.
