Under the Disease Progress Curve.

Rice is one of the most important food crops for the community. In general, challenges in rice cultivation are divided into two main categories, namely abiotic stress and biotic stress. This can be caused by water availability and plant pest organisms. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in soil water content on the development of Bacterial Leaf Blight (BLB) disease caused by the pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) in rice. In this study, Xoo inoculation was carried out using the leaf clipping method. The results of the analysis of variance followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test showed that the treatment of soil water content levels did not have a statistically significant effect on the incubation period, incidence rate, disease intensity, infection rate, and the Area Under the Disease Progress Curve value. Although the results were not significantly different, numerical observations have successfully proven that the condition of 100% water content provided the lowest severity. On the other hand, treatments such as waterlogging and extreme drought stress actually accelerate the rate of infection and can increase the intensity and total accumulation of disease severity in rice plants.
