Concrete floor slabs are structural elements that function to transfer loads to other structural components; therefore, the accuracy of slab thickness during construction is an important indicator of construction quality control. Differences between the concrete floor slab thickness specified in the Detail Engineering Design (DED) and the actual field conditions may affect construction quality and concrete volume requirements. This study aims to analyze the comparison between the concrete floor slab thickness in the DED and the as-built conditions using AutoCAD Civil 3D-based modeling in the Eka Hospital Puri Construction Project.
The research data were obtained through coordinate and elevation measurements of the top concrete surface and top formwork using a Total Station on the basement and ground floor slabs. The measurement data were then processed using AutoCAD Civil 3D to determine the actual slab thickness, thickness deviation, and actual concrete volume. The statistical analyses employed in this study included descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, the One-Sample t-Test, and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE).
The average slab thickness deviation was 0.01454 m (1.454 cm) for the basement floor and 0.01311 m (1.311 cm) for the ground floor, indicating that the actual slab thickness tended to be greater than the design thickness. The Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test produced significance values greater than 0.05, indicating that the data were normally distributed. The One-Sample t-Test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (< 0>
