Coastal sandy soil has low fertility, characterized by low organic matter content, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and nutrient retention capacity. The application of borate fertilizer and Cal-Ha is expected to improve soil chemical properties, thereby enhancing plant growth, yield, and nutrient uptake of peanut. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of borate and Cal-Ha application on soil chemical properties, growth, yield, and nutrient uptake of peanut grown in the coastal sandy soil of Samas, Yogyakarta. The experiment was arranged in a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors and three replications. The first factor was borate fertilizer at four levels (0, 10, 15, and 20 kg ha), while the second factor was Cal-Ha at three levels (0, 1,250, and 1,750 kg ha). The results showed that the borate factor significantly affected soil pH (H2O and KCl), humic acid, fulvic acid, available boron, growth components, yield components, and boron uptake. The Cal-Ha factor significantly affected most soil chemical properties, plant growth, yield, and boron and calcium uptake. Significant interactions between borate and Cal-Ha were observed on soil pH (H2O and KCl), cation exchange capacity (CEC), available boron, fresh shoot weight, dry shoot weight, fresh pod weight, dry pod weight, number of pods, total boron uptake, calcium uptake in shoots, and total calcium uptake. The combination of B20C1750 (20 kg ha borate and 1,750 kg ha Cal-Ha) was the best treatment for improving soil chemical properties, nutrient uptake, plant growth, and peanut yield in the coastal sandy soil of Samas, Yogyakarta.
