Dairy cows are livestock specifically bred and raised for milk production. Gastrointestinal endoparasite infections in dairy cows frequently adversely affect health and production efficiency, necessitating the assessment and identification of their percentage in Indonesia. This study seeks to ascertain the identification of endoparasitic infections, assess haematological profiles, and establish the correlation between endoparasitic infections and haematological profiles in lactating dairy cows at the Samesta Cooperative, Umbulharjo, Sleman. The study sample comprised 10 lactating Friesian Holstein cows. Faecal samples were collected by direct retrieval from the rectum, and blood samples were acquired by drawing 3 ml from the coccygeal vein. Parasite detection and identification were conducted via the centrifugal flotation method, while the haematological profile (WBC, RBC, HGB, and PLT) was assessed using a Mindray BC-30 haematology analyser. The research data were classified as infected/uninfected and normal/abnormal, subsequently subjected to statistical analysis via Fisher’s Exact Test. The results showed that the percentage of endoparasite infection was 70% (7/10) dominated by Eimeria spp. oocysts and strongyl type eggs, exhibiting mild infection intensity. Haematological profiles indicated that 50% of the cows exhibited leukocytosis and 90% presented with mild hypochromic anaemia, whereas RBC and PLT values remained within normal limits (100% and 90%, respectively). Statistical analysis revealed no significant correlation (p>0.05) between endoparasite infection status in FH dairy cows and WBC, HGB, or PLT levels. This study concludes that mild endoparasite infection does not significantly impact the blood profile. Leukocytosis and hypochromic anaemia are highly likely to be affected by lactation stress, negative energy balance (NEB), and heat stress.
