The klanceng bee (Tetragonula laeviceps) is a stingless bee that can be reared in areas with abundant food sources. Nektar and pollen from flowers are potential food sources for this bee. Pollen from flowering plants has morphological characteristics that are unique to each species, so these characteristics can be used as a basis for identifying the plants that serve as food sources for the bees. In addition to pollen and nektar, flowers also contain secondary metabolites that may play a role in health. This study aims to document the morphological characteristics of pollen and analyze the secondary metabolites of selected flowering plants found around the T. laeviceps bee farm in Sirahan Village, Magelang. The method used for pollen preparation was acetolysis, followed by microscopic observation. Meanwhile, the analysis of secondary metabolites was conducted qualitatively using reagents and quantitatively using GC-MS. The results of the study identified 13 species of flowering plants found to have varied pollen morphology. Based on observations of these 13 species, it was found that pollen units were predominantly of the monad type, while pollen polarity was predominantly isopolar. The observed pollen shapes included oblate-spheroidal, spheroidal, prolate-spheroidal, subprolate, and prolate. The observed pollen sizes varied, ranging from small to medium to large. Pollen apertures also showed diversity, including tricolporate, tricolpate, tetracolporate, porate, pantoporate, and inaperturate. The observed ornamentation included echinate, reticulate, psilate, gemmate, and scabrate. Meanwhile, qualitative analysis of secondary metabolites revealed that tannins were the most frequently detected compounds. Furthermore, GC-MS analysis of slected flowering plants detected secondary metabolites belonging to the alkaloid, terpenoid, steroid, and glucosinolate groups. Based on a comparison of the compounds identified by GC-MS analysis of the flowers with those in honey, no match was found between the chemical compositions of the flowers of Amaranthus, B. pilosa, and honey.
