Setiap mencit mendapatkan dua luka eksisi.

Skin wound healing is a complex restoration process in restoring normal skin integrity. Butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) is known to contain active ingredients that have the potential to heal skin wounds. This study aims to determine the effect of butterfly pea flower simplicia cream at concentrations of 5% and 15% on wound area macroscopically by measuring the wound area. Twelve BALB/c mice were divided into three treatment groups, each consisting of 4 mice. Each mouse received two excision wounds. The third group included K- (negative control), K1 (5% butterfly pea flower simplicia cream), and K2 (15% butterfly pea flower simplicia cream). The simplicia cream was made by mixing Morifa® (Morifa) butterfly pea flower simplicia powder at concentrations of 5% and 15% with Biocream® (Merck Indonesia) as the base. Healing activity was observed using the parameter of percentage reduction in the area of the excision wound, calculated from measuring the closure of the wound edges using a digital caliper. The percentage reduction in wound area on days 3 and 6 compared to day 0 (baseline) was analyzed using Welch's Robust Test (Welch’s ANOVA). The results of this study showed that on day 3, groups K1 and K- exhibited a tendency for a decrease in wound area, while group K2 showed a tendency for an increase in wound area. However, on day 6, K2 showed the greatest tendency to decrease in wound area. Statistically, the application of 5% and 15% butterfly pea flower simplicia cream showed a percentage reduction in wound area that was not significantly different (p > 0.05). Although statistically not significantly different, K1 and K2 showed a tendency for a greater percentage reduction in the area of the excision wound compared to the K- group, so that the 5% and 15% butterfly pea flower simplicia cream has the potential for wound healing.
