Broiler chickens are a major source of animal protein with a rapid growth rate, however, their immune system is relatively susceptible to environmental stress. Improving immune function and growth performance can be achieved through the inclusion of natural feed additives containing bioactive compounds. One potential source is the brown macroalgae Sargassum glaucescens, which contains flavonoids and phenolic compounds with antioxidant and immunomodulatory activities. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of ethanolic extract of Sargassum glaucescens (SGE) on the histological structure of lymphoid organs (bursa of Fabricius and spleen) and growth performance of broiler chickens, as well as to determine the optimal dietary concentration of SGE. A total of 300 day-old chicks (DOC) male and female Cobb 500 strain, were reared until 14 days of age and randomly assigned to four treatments: control (K) fed a basal diet, P1 (0.5% SGE/kg BD), P2 (1% SGE/kg BD), and P3 (2% SGE/kg BD), each with five replicates. Observed parameters included histological structure of the bursa of Fabricius (follicular, cortical, and medullary areas) and spleen (white pulp) and lymphoid organ index at day 15, as well as body weight, weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio (FCR), body morphometry at posthatch (day 0) 4, 9, and 14. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA followed Duncan’s multiple range test at a significance level of p ? 0,05. The results showed that dietary SGE supplementation significantly increased body weight, weight gain, and feed conversion efficiency, and enhanced the lymphoid organ index and lymphoid tissue development. This study concluded that supplementation with 2% SGE (P3) produced the most optimal results in enhancing lymphoid organ development and growth performance in broiler chickens.
