The construction industry has been relatively slow in adopting digital transformation, despite the significant potential of building material e-commerce platforms to streamline procurement and improve transaction transparency. The success of such platforms depends heavily on the reliability of the Application Programming Interface (API) as the backbone of data communication, since even minor performance disruptions can directly result in financial losses and erosion of user trust. This study designs, implements, and evaluates a backend API service for a building material e-commerce platform named Borneo Link, built using Golang Fiber, PostgreSQL, MinIO, and Docker, with real-time server monitoring through Grafana and Prometheus. Evaluation was conducted across three testing phases: black box testing confirmed 100% of endpoints functioned according to specification; load testing with 50 virtual users (VU) yielded a 0% error rate, CPU usage below 40%, and response times between 83–288 ms, and stress testing identified a degradation point at approximately 450 VU where CPU exceeded the 80% threshold, though the system remained operational without total downtime up to 700 VU, sustaining a p95 latency of 996.45 ms and an error rate of 3.60%. These results demonstrate that the developed API architecture satisfies scalability feasibility criteria and proves reliable under both normal and extreme peak-load conditions.
