Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
menganalisis pengaruh Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Score
pembayaran dividen. Variabel kontrol Return on Assets (ROA) berpengaruh
positif signifikan, sedangkan Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) dan Size
dividen.
This study analyzes the effect
of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Score on dividend policy in
public companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) over the period
2019–2024, using Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR) as the primary measure and Dividends
to Total Assets (DIV/ASSET) as a robustness check. The research employs a
quantitative explanatory design with panel data analysis, applying the
Generalized Least Squares (GLS) and Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) to address
potential endogeneity, and robustness testing to ensure the consistency of the
results. The findings indicate that ESG Score has a positive and statistically
significant effect on dividend policy across all estimation models, suggesting
a consistent and robust relationship. These results are supported by Agency
Theory, Signaling Theory, and Stakeholder Theory, which explain that ESG
enhances transparency, reduces agency conflicts, and provides positive signals
to investors, thereby encouraging higher dividend distributions. Among the
control variables, Return on Assets (ROA) shows a positive and significant
effect, while Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and firm size exhibit inconsistent or
statistically insignificant effects. Overall, the results indicate that ESG
plays a significant role not only in sustainability performance but also in
shaping corporate financial decisions, particularly dividend policy.
