The curved escalator, a type of lifting and conveying equipment, in this case the tuned escalator (curved escalator), is a type of conveying equipment that has long been known abroad (since 1906), but is still rarely found in Indonesia. Curved escalators offer many benefits for serving visitors in government departments or shopping centers. They also serve as a safe and comfortable means of transportation, saving more money in horizontal directions than straight escalators. This curved escalator design is used to connect first floors. From the third floor of Malioboro Mall, the structure has a height of 8,000 mm, an elevation angle of 30", a transport speed of 0.5 m/s, and an escalator radius of curvature of 1,000 mm. This design includes several components that have undergone changes and additional supporting components to ensure the curved escalator operates effectively, such as a more curved step shape, the use of universal shaft joints (shaft joints) to pull the steps instead of chains (rantzi), a modified external rail track, and the addition of horizontal support components for the escalator when it begins to curve. Based on the calculations, the following results were obtained: the total length of the horizontal escalator is 14,533 mm, the height is 8,000 mm, the radius of curvature is constant at 1,000 mm, and the capacity is 9,721 people per hour.
