Ketersediaan dan penggunaan sarana prasarana transportasi bagi wisatawan di daerah tujuan wisata kabupaten Kulonprogo

INTISARI Kabupaten Kulon Progo merupakan salah satu daerah tujuan wisata di Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Kawasan objek wisata di kabupaten ini terletak di Kecamatan Temon, Galur, Kokap, Girimulyo dan Samigaluh. Keterbatasan angkutan umum dan jalan merupakan kendala yang perlu diperbaiki guna mendukung kegiatan kepariwisataan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ketersediaan dan penggunaan angkutan umum dan jalan, perkembangan jumlah wisatawan dan karakteristik wisatawan. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder, dengan teknik analisis metode skoring dan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ketersediaan angkutan umum di lima kecamatan daerah tujuan wisata masih terbatas, sehingga wisatawan lebih memilih menggunakan kendaraan pribadi daripada angkutan umum. Selain angkutan umum, jalan merupakan salah satu jembatan penghubung daerah asal dan daerah tujuan wisatawan perbaikan jalan masih diperlukan di sebagian jalan menuju objek wisata Gua Kiskendo, Puncak Suroloyo dan Pantai Congot. Jalan dan angkutan umum merupakan akses bagi suatu objek wisata, keberadaan fasilitas transportasi yang memadai akan dapat mendukung kegiatan kepariwisataan di daerah ini. Berdasarkan karakteristik wisatawan, sebagian wisatawan yang berkunjung adalah berstatus pelajar dan mahasiswa, berasal dari luar kabupaten Kulon Progo, masih tergolong usia produktif, dan mereka lebih senang menggunakan bentuk wisatawan rombongan. Diperlukan peran masyarakat dan investor dalam mengembangkan objek wisata, guna meningkatkan mutu suatu objek wisata melalui Kebijakan yang diambil.

Kulon Progo Regency, which includes the sub-districts of Temon, Galur, Kokap, Girimulyo and Samigaluh, is an important destination for tourism located in the Special District of Yogyakarta. While many features of this area make it attractive to tourism, the relative lack of public transportation facilities and good roads must be overcome in order to ensure that Kulon Progo Regency can fully support activities in the tourism sector. The goal of the research for this study was to gain an understanding of the current availability and usage of public transportation and infrastructure, compared to the average number and general characteristics of tourists visiting this area. The study made use of primary and secondary data, with scoring methodology and descriptive qualitative analysis as the primary techniques of investigation. The results of the research show that public transportation in the five primary tourist sites in Kulon Progo Regency is quite limited, so that tourists prefer to use their own vehicles rather than depend on public transportation. Because roads usable by private cars represent one important form of infrastructure in addition to public transportation, the roads that connect one tourist destination to another need further repair and improvement so that tourists can, for example, easily reach attractive tourist destinations like the Kiskendo Cave, Suroloyo Peak and Congot Beach. Roads in good condition and public transportation are thus the main keys for supporting tourist activities, so the existence of adequate transportation facilities is an important matter for development in this area. In terms of the characteristics of tourists visiting this area, a large number of visitors are students, including university students who largely come from outside Kulon Progo Regency. Most visitors are at the age of being economically productive and are among the type of tourist who prefer to travel in groups. The participation of the local society, and of investors in the tourist sector are needed in order to develop Kulon Progo Regency as a destination for tourism, along with appropriate governmental policies aimed at increasing the value of the area as an attractive area for tourism.
