Sektor pariwisata sering kali belum
memastikan sistem memenuhi kebutuhan spesifik pengguna. Berdasarkan hasil Focus
Group Discussion (FGD) dan matriks House of Quality (HoQ), sistem
The tourism sector is often not
fully inclusive for people with disabilities, especially physically impaired
travelers who face physical mobility barriers in natural destinations. This
research aims to design and test an inclusive multisensory immersive technology-based
digital tourism system to improve the experience and satisfaction of tourists
with disabilities. The background of the selection of the Watu Karung Beach
tourist attraction in Pacitan is based on the characteristics of the sandy
terrain that makes it difficult for wheelchair users, so technological
innovation is needed to provide equal access to tourism.
The methodology used in this research is the
User-Centered Design (UCD) approach to ensure the system meets the specific
needs of users. Based on the results of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and House
of Quality (HoQ) matrix, the system is designed with Single Controller feature
to facilitate one-handed accessibility and integrate multisensory stimulus in
the form of visual, audio, haptic (vibration and texture of sand), and
gustatory (taste simulation). The test involved 30 respondents divided into
physically disabled and non-disabled groups, with evaluation using
physiological parameters such as EEG, HRV, and GSR, as well as subjective
instruments in the form of UEQs and SUS questionnaires.
The results showed that the
beach simulation provided an equivalent relaxation effect for all users, with
no significant difference in the level of calmness (FAA on EEG) and relaxation
(LF/HF on HRV) between the two groups. In terms of user experience, both groups
rated the application in the “Excellent” category, but the physically impaired
group felt a higher hedonic quality or pleasure because VR became a bridge to
experience experiences that are difficult to reach in the real world. The
satisfaction level (SUS) of the physically disabled group was 65 and the
non-disabled group was 69, proving that multisensory immersive technology can
provide inclusive and meaningful access to tourism for people with physical
disabilities.
