Pengukuran Kandungan Nutrisi pada Hay Indigofera zollingeriana dengan Pengeringan Rotary Dryer terhadap Variasi Suhu, Lama Pemanasan, dan Waktu Simpan

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kombinasi suhu pengeringan, lama pemanasan, dan waktu penyimpanan yang optimal dalam mempertahankan kandungan nutrisi Hay Indigofera zollingeriana, serta untuk mengevaluasi ada tidaknya interaksi antara suhu pengeringan dan lama pemanasan terhadap kualitas nutrisi hay yang dihasilkan. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 2 × 3 dengan dua suhu pengeringan (90 dan 100°C) serta tiga lama pemanasan (3, 4, dan 5 jam), masing-masing direplikasi sebanyak 3 kali. Hay yang telah dibuat disimpan dengan lama penyimpanan selama 60 hari. Parameter yang diamati meliputi komposisi fisik yaitu warna, dan komposisi kimia yaitu bahan kering (BK), bahan organik (BO), protein kasar (PK), lemak kasar (LK), serat kasar (SK), bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen (BETN), kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK), kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO), fraksi serat Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) dan Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) apabila terdapat perbedaan nyata antar perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu dan lama pemanasan menggunakan rotary dryer berpengaruh nyata (P<0>0,05) baik sebelum maupun setelah penyimpanan. Kesimpulannya adalah perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada suhu 90°C dengan lama pemanasan 4 jam (T1-D2), yang mampu mempertahankan komposisi nutrisi dan kestabilan kualitas Hay selama penyimpanan.

The study aimed to determine the optimal combination of drying temperature, heating duration, and storage period in maintaining the nutritional quality of Indigofera zollingeriana hay, as well as to evaluate the interaction between drying temperature and heating duration on the resulting hay quality. The experiment was conducted using a 2 × 3 factorial completely randomized design, consisting of two drying temperatures (90 and 100°C) and three heating durations (3, 4, and 5 h), with three replications per treatment. The produced hay was stored for 60 days. Observed parameters included physical characteristics (color) and chemical composition, namely dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), crude fiber (CF), nitrogen-free extract (NFE), in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD), in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD), and fiber fractions Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) and Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and significant differences among treatments were further evaluated using Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that drying temperature and heating duration using a rotary dryer significantly affected (P<0>0.05), either before or after storage. The conclusion is that the best treatment was obtained at a temperature of 90°C with a heating duration of 4 hours (T1-D2), which was able to maintain the nutrient composition and stability of hay quality during storage.
