Gerakan mahasiswa di Universitas Gadjah Mada mengalami dinamika luar
biasa pada masa Normalisasi Kehidupan Kampus dan Badan Koordinasi
Keorganisasian.
nasional melalui strategi bawah tanah.
mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada yaitu Senat Mahasiswa, Gelanggang
Surat Keputusan terkait pembekuan Dewan Mahasiswa hingga akhirnya

The student movement at Gadjah Mada University underwent extraordinary
changes during the period of Campus Life Normalization and the Organizational
Coordination Agency. The New Order government emerged as an actor in the
suppression of students. The scope for student democracy became increasingly
limited. UGM student activists acted as agents of resistance against the regime in
the fight for justice. This thesis aims to examine in greater depth the dynamics and
strategies employed by students to sustain the student movement within the Gadjah
Mada University campus environment. This thesis utilizes primary and secondary
sources through historical research methods. The findings of this study indicate that
despite suppression during the NKK/BKK era, the spirit of Gadjah Mada students
remained steadfast in championing democratic values and continued to critique the
performance of campus, regional, and national officials through underground
strategies. This study also highlights the fact that four key institutions were closely
intertwined in the student activism at Gadjah Mada University: the Student Senate,
the Student Union, the Student Press Association, and the Islamic Student Activism
group. The dynamics of the student movement during the NKK/BKK era began with
the issuance of a decree freezing the Student Council, was eventually hit by the
Normalization of Campus Life, and, through the synergy of various parties,
ultimately led to the revocation of the NKK/BKK policy.
