Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tinggi pemotongan awal 30 dan 60 cm pada umur tujuh minggu terhadap karakteristik morfologi dan produksi biomassa pertumbuhan kembali (regrowth) pertama tanaman orok-orok (Crotalaria juncea L.) di lahan Hijauan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Gadjah Mada, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari dua perlakuan tinggi pemotongan awal yaitu 30 dan 60 cm. Sebanyak delapan petak tanaman orok-orok masing-masing berukuran 120 x 110 cm dengan jarak antar petak 50 cm dibagi menjadi dua perlakuan tinggi pemotongan awal. Jarak tanam 20 x 30 cm dan setiap petak berisi 20 tanaman. Data morfologi yang diambil meliputi pengamatan tinggi tanaman, panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, dan jumlah cabang. Pengukuran produksi biomassa dengan menimbang berat segar, bahan kering, dan bahan organik setelah oven. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Independent student t-test. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang nyata (P<0>0,05). This study aims to determine the effect of the first cutting height of 30 and 60 cm at the age of seven weeks on the morphological characteristics and biomass production of the first regrowth of sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea L.) at forage and pasture field, Faculty of Animal Science, Gadjah Mada University, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The research design used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), consisting of two initial cutting height treatments 30 and 60 cm. A total of eight plots of sunn hemp plants, each measuring 120 x 110 cm with a distance between plots of 50 cm, were divided into two initial cutting height treatments. The planting distance is 20 x 30 cm and each plot contains 20 plants. The morphological data collected included measurements of plant height, plant length, number of leaves, stem diameter, and number of branches. Measurement of biomass production by weighing fresh weight, dry matter, and organic matter after oven. Data analysis was performed using the Independent student t-test method. Data processing was performed using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) application. The results showed that there were significant differences (P<0>0,05).
