This study evaluates the quality of four 3D seismic data volumes, namely Seismic 98, PSTM 2013, CRS MIG, and Final Preserved, to determine the best dataset for quantitative interpretation in the LPT Field, Kutai Basin, East Kalimantan. Geologically, the LPT Field exhibits reservoir target complexity within the Balikpapan and Kampung Baru Formations, dominated by fluvial-deltaic systems and inversion structures, demands high vertical resolution and stable signal integrity . Quantitative evaluation was conducted using Bandwidth Index (BI), vertical resolution, time shift, phase shift, and auto/cross-correlation values.
Analysis results indicate that the Final Preserved dataset is superior, exhibiting the highest signal stability and laterally consistent wavelet character. This dataset achieved the most optimal vertical resolution (average 17.19 ms), enabling precise separation of thin reservoir layers. In terms of spectrum, Final Preserved provides an ideal broadband balance with the highest sub-stack similarity (average cross-correlation 0.42) and minimal phase and time shifts. Consequently, the Final Preserved dataset is recommended as the primary database for reservoir characterization to minimize interpretation uncertainty in the LPT Field.
