This study examined the role of residential mobility and attachment styles in predicting loneliness among emerging adults (N = 133). Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire to assess residential mobility history, along with the Attachment Style Questionnaire and the UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3. Analyses included group comparison tests and regression. Results indicated no significant difference in loneliness between individuals from Moving Family and Settled backgrounds. However, the frequency of residential moves during developmental years significantly predicted loneliness in a negative direction, indicating that higher mobility was associated with lower perceived loneliness. Secure attachment predicted lower loneliness, whereas preoccupied, fearful, and dismissing attachment styles predicted higher loneliness. These findings suggest that family mobility is not inherently detrimental and that loneliness in emerging adulthood is more strongly shaped by internal relational dynamics than by mobility status itself.
