2003 | Skripsi | S1 KEHUTANANUlat daun jati ( .Hyblaea puera Cr. ) telah lama dikenal menyerang hutan jati yang menyebabkan penggundulan daun jati beberapa bulan pada awal musim penghujan. Seleksi klon telah lama dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas hutan jati di Indonesia. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari respon klon-klon terhadap sermgan ulat jati . Respon klon- klon ter tadap serangan ulat jati dipelajari berdasarkan pola penyebaran serangan yang borawal dari satu individu klon atau lebih. Penilaian respon ditentukan berdasarkan atas adanya klon -klon yang terserang paling awal yang berkembang menjadi pusat serangan . Penilaian respon selanjutnya didasarkan atas intensitas serangan pada klon-klon jati disekeliling pusat serangan. Pola serangan ulat jati ( H. puera) yang dimulai dari pusat serangan terutama ditemukan pada klon yang ditanam dengan pertanaman acak. Pusat serangan terdiri atas satu individu klon atau lebih dan kemudian meluas pada klon- klon disekelilingnya . Pada pertanaman lajur, serangan lebih terkonsentrasi pada lajur-lajur klon yang sama. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa respon klon -klon berbeda terhadap serangan ulat jati . Klon yang sangat responsif di kebun benih klon Cepu yaitu klon nomor 13 dan 20 , dan klon yang kurang responsif yaitu klon nomor 3, 4, dan 18. Klon nomor 27 dan 28 kurang responsif di Bank Klon Petung, dan klon nomor 150, 151 , 159, dan 160 kurang responsif di Bank Klon Kendal .
Teak defoliator ( Hyblaea puera Cr. ) has been known for long time attacking teak forest causing leaf defoliation for several month during early rainy season. Clone selection has so far been developed to increase the productivity of teak forest in Indonesia. The experiment aimed to evaluate the responstof clones to teak defoliator. The response, of clones to teak defoliator was evaluated based on the basic pattern of attack , started from one individu of clone or more. Initial response was determined based on clones showing first attack which developed as centre of attack . Further response was evaluated based on clones growing on the subsequent rows surrounding the centre of attack . The patterns of attack of teak defoliator initiating from a centre attack were found mainly on clone plantation growing at random based. The centre of attack might consisted of one individual clone or more clone and developed through the surroe iding clones. In plantation of row designed, the pattern of attack tends to concentrate on the row of same clone . The results also showed that clones responded differently to defoliator attack . The most responsive clones in clonal seed orchard in Cepu were clonefiiumber 13 and 20, and the less responsive clones wererclones number 3, 4 and 18. Clones number 27 and 28 were lack of responsiveness at Petung Clone Bank, and clones number 150, 151, 159, and 160 were lack of responsiveness at Kendal Clone Bank .
