The changes and instability experienced during emerging adulthood often give rise to feelings of helplessness and uncertainty about the future, a condition commonly referred to as a quarter-life crisis. When individuals are unable to cope effectively with these challenges, they may experience psychological difficulties such as stress, anxiety, and frustration. This study aimed to examine the role of positive reappraisal and hope in quarter-life crisis among emerging adults. A quantitative research design was employed using an online survey administered via Google Forms. The instruments used in this study included the Quarter-Life Crisis Scale (QLCS), the Positive Reappraisal subscale of the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ), and the Adult Hope Scale (AHS). The participants were Indonesian citizens aged 18–25 years who were not currently pursuing formal education. Data were collected using a purposive sampling technique, resulting in a total of 151 respondents, the majority were female (N = 91), aged between 21 and 23 years (N = 90), currently employed (N = 87), and held a bachelor’s degree (N = 85). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with Jamovi. The results indicated that positive reappraisal and hope simultaneously had a significant negative effect on quarter-life crisis (R² = 0,556; p < 0,001), thereby supporting the proposed research hypothesis.
