Kajian pencemaran sungai Pesing dikecamatan Pleret kabupaten Bantul

Sungai Pesing merupakan sungai intermitten, yang digunakan penduduk setempat untuk keperluan pengairan sawah dan perikanan. Kegiatan peternakan dan penjagalan sapi-kuda oleh sebagian masyarakat Desa Segoroyoso Kecamatan Pleret Kabupaten Bantul yang limbahnya dibuang ke Sungai Pesing, besar kemungkinan akan berpengaruh pada kualitas air sungai tersebut, baik kualitas. fisik, kimia, maupun biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kualitas air Sungai Pesing dan tingkat pencemaran yang terjadi berdasar PP RI No. 82 Th. 2001 untuk perikanan, peternakan dan irigasi (kelas 2). Parameter kualitas air dalam penelitian ini ditinjau dari beberapa parameter fisik yaitu suhu, daya hantar listrik (DHL) dan Total Dissolved Solid (TDS); parameter kimia yaitu pH, Disolved Oxygen (DO), amonia, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), dan Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD); parameter biologi yakni bakteri coli. Pengambilan sampel air dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan survei lapangan dengan metode purposive sampling. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kualitas air berdasar sumber pencemar. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 7 titik lokasi pengambilan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini merupakan sampel sesaat pada saat ketinggian rata-rata muka air sungai yang diperoleh dari wawancara masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan untuk analisis tingkat pencemaran adalah Metode Indeks Pencemaran. Hasil yang diperoleh dengan metode indeks pencemaran ada 2 status mutu air yaitu kondisi baik dan tercemar ringan. Status mutu air kondisi baik hanya pada sampel I dan kondisi tercemar ringan pada sampel II hingga sampel VII. Nilai kualitas air yang melebihi baku mutu air kelas 2 yaitu colitinja yang bernilai ? 2400 MPN/100ml. Parameter-parameter kualitas air yang lain di bawah ambang batas baku mutu air kelas 2. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa aktivitas peternakan dan penjagalan yang membuang limbahnya ke Sungai Pesing, mempengaruhi kualitas air terutama indikator adanya bakteri bakteri coli.

Pesing River is an intermittent river. It is used by population there for irrigation and fish breeding. Raising and butchery activities of horses and cows which were carried out by some people in Segoroyoso Subdistrict, Pleret District, Bantul Regency who throw away the wastes these activities in Pesing River likely to have effect on physhical, chemical, and biological water quality. This research is held in purpose to study the water quality and the pollution level of Pesing River according to PP RI No. 82 Th. 2001 for fish breeding and irrigation purposes (class II water). There are three parameters to determine the water quality in this research ie physichal parameters: temperature, electric conductivity, Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), chemical parameters: acid level (pH), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), ammonia, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD). Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), biological parameter: the number of coli bacteria. The water sample in this research is based on a field survey by using purposive sampling method. This is in purpose to know condition of water quality from the polluted sources. There are seven sample locations for this research. The samples in this research are temporary samples, this are taken from interviewing the people, when the water is on the average height level. The method used for analyzing the pollution level is called Pollution Index Method. By using this method, it result two statues of water quality i.e. good quality and low polluted water. The good quality status occurs on the first sample and the low polluted water occurs on the second to fourth samples. The quality points of the class II water quality standard is coli bacteria which results ? 2400 MPN/100ml. The other parameters results under the limit of the class II water quality standard. From these results, we can conclude that raising, and butchery activities, by which the people throw their waste to the Pesing River, affect the water especially the number of coli bacteria.
