MALES’ PERCEPTION AND INVOLVEMENT IN PRECONCEPTION CARE IN INDONESIAN PRIMARY CARE IN BANTUL REGION YOGYAKARTA

Background         : Preconception care is an effort to prevent morbidity and optimize health services before pregnancy. In Indonesia, particularly in Bantul region, Yogyakarta, men's involvement in preconception care is rare, and research on this subject is limited.

 

Objectives            : To explore men's involvement and factors associated with men's involvement in preconception care in Bantul region, Yogyakarta. 

Methode               : This study will apply a cross sectional observatory methods using survey. Males aged  >18 years old bride-to-be, or those planning for conception identified in the primary care clinics waiting rooms will be invited to participate in the study. They will be asked to fill in questionnaire contained questions about their perception, attitudes and involvement in preconception care, as well factors influencing the utilization of preconception care in primary care. Data collection will be conducted between May to August 2024. The data will be analysed descriptively and sought for any correlation between their perception and involvement in the preconception care with the aid of SPSS-21.

 

Results: This study will provide data on male’s perception and involvement in preconception care in primary care.
