Penelitian dilakukan di lahan pertanian di Kelurahan Bumirejo Kecamatan Kebumen yang menggunakan air irigasi yang telah tercemar limbah cair dari Pabrik Kecap Kentjana. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh limbah cair Pabrik Kecap Kentjana terhadap kualitas air irigasi sesaat setelah limbah cair masuk dan mengetahui pengaruh limbah cair Pabrik Kecap Kentjana terhadap kesuburan tanah lahan pertanian setelah diairi dengan air irigas? yang tercemar limbah. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah pengukuran di lapangan dan analisis di laboratorium. Parameter yang diukur di lapangan adalah suhu air, DHL. dan kedalaman efektif tanah. Parameter kualitas air yang dianalisis di laboratorium adalah BOD, COD, padatan tersuspensi, persentase sodium, dan sodium absorption ratio (SAR). Parameter kesuburan tanah yang dianalisis di laboratorium adalah permeabilitas, tekstur, kapasitas tukar kation, KB. P2O5 KO. dan bahan organik. Sampel air diambil di saluran irigasi yang tercemar limbah cair kecap. Sampel tanah diambil di sekitar titik pengambilan sampel air. Titik pengambilan sampel tanah ke arah lateral dengan jarak 1 m. 20 m, 40 m, 60 m, 80 m, dan 100 m dari saluran irigasi. Selain itu, sampel air dan sampel tanah juga diambil pada saluran irigasi dan tanah lahan pertanian yang tidak tercemar limbah cair kecap sebagai pembanding. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas air irigasi antara saluran yang tercemar limbah dan yang tidak tercemar limbah berbeda tetapi tidak merubah kelas kualitas air irigasi. Adanya limbah cair kecap juga merubah sifat fisik dan kimia tanah tetapi tidak merubah tingkat kesuburan tanah.

ABSTRACT The research was conducted at a rice field in Bumirejo village, Kebumen district by sampling the polluted irrigation water caused by the industrial liquid waste of Kentjana sauce from a factory. The objective of the study is to know how the industrial liquid waste of Kentjana sauce would affect the irrigation water quality and how it would affect the soil fertility. The research methods were direct measurement in the field and laboratory analysis. The parameter measured were water temperature, electrical conductivity (DHI.), and the depth of soil effectiveness. The parameters of water quality that were analyzed in the laboratory were BOD, COD, total suspended solid, sodium percentage, and sodium absorption ratio (SAR). The parameters of soil fertility which were analyzed in the laboratory were soil permeability, soil texture, soil cation exchange capacity, base saturation index, P2O3, K2O and organic substance. Water sample was taken from the irrigation channel which has been polluted by the industrial liquid waste from the sauce factory. Soil sample was taken laterally 1 m, 20 m, 40 m. 60 m, 80 m, and 100 m far from the polluted irrigation channel. For comparation, the research also used nonpolluted water and nonpolluted soil from other irrigation channel and other rice field. Based on the results, there is a difference between polluted water and that of the nonpolluted one. However, this difference does not change the irrigation quality class. The industrial liquid waste from the sauce has also changed the phyisical and chemical characteristics of soil, but it does not change the soil fertility.
