Waduk Sermo berada di Desa Hargowilis, Kecamatan Kokap, Kabupaten Kulonprogo, telah beroperasi sejak +8 tahun yang lalu. Rule curve Waduk Sermo dinilai sudah tidak relevan dengan kondisi sekarang sebagai manifestasi perkembangan di daerah hilirnya, perubahan karakteristik tampungan, dan pola inflow. Oleh karena itu, rule curve perlu direview terhadap kondisi saat ini di Waduk Sermo untuk jangka waktu lima tahun ke depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat software, mengkaji imbangan air, dan mereview rule curve Waduk Sermo. Data penelitian merupakan data pemantauan water level dan debit release yang digunakan untuk melihat kesesuaian dengan perkembangan kebutuhan air di daerah hilir bendungan di masa depan. Ada tiga model dalam satu paket software yang dikembangkan dengan menggunakan Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 dari persamaan Muskingum. Software “Survey dan Simulasi Waduk Sermo (SSWS)” dapat diaplikasikan untuk simulasi penelusuran outflow, inflow, dan mereview rule curve. Berdasarkan simulasi dengan SSWS, ketersediaan air berkisar antara 23,17 juta m3 – 70,01 juta m3 dan pelepasan air antara 18,10 juta m3 – 44,16 juta m3. Secara keseluruhan, dua simulasi dengan Model C menunjukkan bahwa rule curve perlu dievaluasi karena kurang sesuai dengan kondisi saat ini

Sermo Reservoir is located on Hargowilis village, Kokap sub district, Kulonprogo regency which has been operated since eight (8) years ago. The rule curve of Sermo Reservoir has been considered irrelevant with current condition due to the change in downstream development, reservoir’s characteristics, and inflow pattern. Therefore, the rule curve is required to be reviewed by considering recent condition of Sermo Reservoir for the next five years. This research is aimed to develop a software for simulating water balance in Sermo Reservoir and evaluating performance of rule curve. Data collection was conducted base on abservation of water level and release of discharge to observe the compatibility to water demand development of downstream area in the future. There are three models in one package of this software which developed by using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 from Muskingum’s equation. This software is called ‘Survey dan Simulasi Waduk Sermo (SSWS)’ which can be utilized to rout outflow, inflow, and to evaluate the rule curve of the reservoir. Based on results of the SSWS application, the available of water supply was between 23,17 MCM – 70,01 MCM and water release was between 18,10 MCM – 44,16 MCM. In overall, the results of two simulation with C Model shows that the rule curve of Sermo Reservoir needs to be evaluated with its present condition.
