Kajian interaksi spasial antar wilayah di kawasan metropolitan Mamminasata

Mamminasata Metropolitan Area is a regional development area at South Sulawesi Province, formed because the rapid development of Makassar City with the result of the agglomeration with the other three main cities, which is Maros, Sungguminasa and Takalar. The concept of this regional development structure shows the orientation of all activities in this region still concentrated in Makassar City. This research aims to (1) identify spatial interaction level between Makassar City with other regencies in Mamminasata Metropolitan, (2) determine the typology of spatial interactions between Makassar City with other regions in Mamminasata Metropolitan. (3) compose policy implications that can support optimalization of the spatial interactions in Mamminasata Metropolitan. This research is done by using secondary data analysis, comprises of quantitative analysis and descriptive analysis. The analysis unit that used in this research is city/regency. Quantitative analysis, using gravity method, compose inter-region interaction potential in this metropolitan region, based on the population, total GRDP, industrial sector's GRDP, trade sector's GRDP and labour, whereas from the result of descriptive analysis can be obtained the figure about real interaction condition in Mamminasata Metropolitan Area, based on the traffic volume in this area. All the outcomes of that analysis is used to compile the typology of the inter-region interactions, which become reference to compose policy direction for inter-region spatial interactions optimalization in this metropolitan area. The result of this research shows three kinds of spatial interaction's typology in Mamminasata Metropolitan which is Makassar-Sungguminasa's interaction with high potensial and real interaction's, Makasar-Maros' interaction with high potential interaction's rate but low real interaction's, and Makassar-Takalar's interaction with low potential and real interaction's rate. The policy implications for the optimalization of Mamminasata Metropolitan's interaction e.g. the development of new residential at the edge region, the improvement of economic growth and distribution through economic structural specialization, especially in Mamminasata Metropolitan's satellite cities, and also the improvement of transportation facilities that connect the inter-region at Mamminasata Metropolitan Area.
