Konflik Sosial Masyarakat Suriah pada Cerpen “Ajmalu Mad?nah” dalam Antologi Daftaru al-?arbi Karya Mamdou? ?amadeh: Analisis Sosiologi Sastra

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan konflik sosial yang dialami masyarakat Suriah dalam cerpen “Ajmalu Mad?nah” dalam antologi Daftaru al-?arbi karya Mamdou? ?amadeh. Teori yang digunakan sebagai landasan penelitian adalah teori konflik sosial Dean G. Pruitt dan Jeffrey Z. Rubin dengan pendekatan analisis sosiologi sastra. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis yang dilakukan dengan cara menguraikan dan mendeskripsikan hasil analisis disertai fakta-fakta yang terjadi. Tahapan penelitian ini terdiri atas dua tahap, yaitu pengumpulan data dan analisis data. Data diperoleh melalui pembacaan objek material berulang dan dilakukan penerjemahan yang baik. Selanjutnya, menentukan metode dan pengumpulan data. Hasil data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori konflik sosial dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Terakhir, mendeskripsikan hasil analisis.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Suriah dalam cerpen “Ajmalu Mad?nah” mengalami tiga bentuk konflik sosial, yaitu perdebatan, penghinaan, dan peperangan. Pertama, perdebatan yang ditampilkan tidak sekadar percakapan biasa, melainkan simbol fragmentasi identitas dan krisis politik yang gagal menemukan titik temu. Kedua, penghinaan menjadi representasi praktik dehumanisasi dan polarisasi sosial, ketika martabat individu maupun kelompok direndahkan demi menegasikan keberadaan pihak lain. Terakhir, peperangan muncul sebagai puncak konflik yang menggambarkan perpecahan ideologi, etnis, dan agama hingga bermuara pada perang saudara serta krisis kemanusiaan.

This research aims to reveal the sosial conflict experienced by the Syrian community in the short story "Ajmalu Mad?nah" from the anthology Daftaru al-?arbi by Mamdou? ?amadeh. The theory used as the foundation for this research is Dean G. Pruitt and Jeffrey Z. Rubin's theory of social conflict with a sociological analysis of literature approach. The method employed is a descriptive analysis method, which involves outlining and describing the results of the analysis accompanied by the relevant facts. The stages of this research consist of two phases: data collection and data analysis. Data is obtained through repeated readings of the material object and careful translation. Subsequently, the method and data collection are determined. The collected data were then analyzed using social conflict theory with a sociological approach to literature. Finally, the analysis results were described.

The results of this research indicate that the Syrian community in the short story “Ajmalu Mad?nah” experience three forms of sosial conflict, namely debate, humiliation, and war. First, the debate depicted is not just an ordinary conversation, but a symbol of fragmented identities and a political crisis that fails to find common ground. Second, humiliation represents practices of dehumanization and sosial polarization, when the dignity of individuals and groups is degraded order to negate the existence of the other party. Finally, war emerges as the peak of conflict, depicting ideological, ethnic, and religious divisions that culminate in civil war and humanitarian crises.
