Studi dengan judul “Interaksi Manusia-Chatgpt dan Autentisitas Pemikiran dalam Perspektif Determinisme Teknologi Jacques Ellul (1912 – 1994)”, bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara filosofis bagaimana interaksi manusia dengan ChatGPT berdampak pada autentisitas pemikiran, yang didefinisikan melalui tiga pilar: orisinalitas ide, kemandirian dalam proses kognitif, dan kapasitas refleksi kritis. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kepustakaan, dengan menerapkan kerangka teoretis determinisme teknologi dari filsuf Prancis, Jacques Ellul. Data yang terkumpul diolah menggunakan unsur-unsur metodis filsafat untuk menganalisis bagaimana konsep La Technique Ellul dapat menjelaskan fenomena ChatGPT dalam memengaruhi proses kognitif, kemandirian, dan refleksi kritis manusia.

Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa interaksi manusia dengan ChatGPT merefleksikan karakteristik utama la technique. Melalui kacamata determinisme teknologi, interaksi ini dilihat sebagai proses ketika logika efisiensi dari sistem teknis secara aktif membentuk dan membatasi proses kognitif manusia. Pengguna cenderung mengadopsi jalur berpikir yang paling efisien namun paling tidak kritis, seperti meniru atau memodifikasi output ChatGPT daripada menghasilkan gagasan orisinal. Fenomena cognitive offloading ini secara sistematis mengikis kemandirian berpikir dan menghambat disposisi untuk melakukan refleksi serta verifikasi mendalam, karena hampir separuh pengguna jarang memverifikasi informasi yang diterima dari ChatGPT. Kesimpulannya, interaksi deterministik dengan ChatGPT secara signifikan menantang keaslian pemikiran manusia dengan mereduksi otonomi kognitif dan menjadikan manusia sebagai objek dalam sistem teknis yang ia ciptakan sendiri.

The study, entitled “Human-Chatgpt Interaction and the Authenticity of Thought in the Perspective of Jacques Ellul's Technological Determinism (1912 – 1994)”, aims to philosophically analyze how human interaction with ChatGPT impacts authenticity of thought, defined through three pillars: originality of ideas, independence in cognitive processes, and capacity for critical reflection. To address this question, this study employed a qualitative approach with a literature review method, applying the theoretical framework of technological determinism from French philosopher Jacques Ellul. The collected data was processed using philosophical methodological elements to analyze how Ellul's concept of la technique can explain the ChatGPT phenomenon in influencing human cognitive processes, independence, and critical reflection.

The study results indicate that human interaction with ChatGPT reflects the key characteristics of la technique. Through the lens of technological determinism, this interaction is seen as a process where the efficiency logic of the technical system actively shapes and constrains human cognitive processes. Users tend to adopt the most efficient but least critical thinking paths, such as imitating or modifying ChatGPT output rather than generating original ideas. This cognitive offloading phenomenon systematically erodes independent thinking and inhibits the disposition to engage in in-depth reflection and verification, as nearly half of users rarely verify the information received from ChatGPT. In conclusion, deterministic interactions with ChatGPT significantly challenge the authenticity of human thought by reducing cognitive autonomy and rendering humans objects within the technical systems they themselves create.
