Background: Electronic medical records (EMR) are expected to increase recording efficiency, speed up services, and minimize medical errors. The success of implementing this system is not only determined by technical aspects, but is also greatly influenced by user acceptance, especially nurses who are frontline health workers in the use of EMR. Based on the important role of nurses in the successful implementation of this system, understanding the factors that influence their perceptions is crucial in developing strategies for developing and optimizing EMR in hospitals.
Objective: This study aims to examine nurses’ perceptions regarding the acceptance of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) at RSUP Dr. Sardjito General Hospital Yogyakarta using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model.
Method: This research is a descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The respondents were 117 nurses working in Instalasi Rawat Inap Dewasa 1 (IRNA 1) RSUP Dr. Sardjito General Hospital of RSUP Dr. Sardjito General Hospital. Data were collected using a UTAUT-based questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency distribution and mean calculations.
Results: The analysis showed that the performance expectancy construct had a mean score of 3.44, indicating a very good category. The effort expectancy construct scored 3.19, falling into the good category. Meanwhile, social influence (3.27), facilitating conditions (3.32), and behavioral intention (3.38) were all categorized as very good.
