Bantul Regency is one of the regencies in Special Region of Yogyakarta Province that has recorded a high number of residential fire incidents each year. One of the contributing factors to this high number is the lack of public awareness and preparedness regarding fire hazards, which poses a real threat to the residents of Bantul Regency. One way to mitigate disaster risks and minimize both human and material losses is by mapping the level of residential fire risk. This final project aims to assess the level of residential fire disaster risk in each district (kapanewon) within Bantul Regency.
The residential fire risk map in Bantul Regency was created using the disaster risk index calculation method established by the BNPB, which involves integrating hazard maps, vulnerability maps, and capacity maps. This final project employs a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach, utilizing scoring and weighting methods for the parameters, in accordance with BNPB Regulation No. 2 of 2012 for hazard and vulnerability mapping. Additionally, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is used to map disaster capacity, with parameters based on Wibisana (2023), which include water sources, fire stations, and disaster training and socialization.
The calculation results of the residential fire hazard index from 17 districts show the highest value of 0.830 and the lowest value of 0.330. Based on the hazard index, 8 districts fall into the high hazard level, 5 districts into the medium hazard level, and 4 districts into the low hazard level. The vulnerability index ranges from 0.530 to 0.720. The vulnerability index results indicate 3 districts with high vulnerability, 8 districts with medium vulnerability, and 6 districts with low vulnerability. The capacity assessment using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method shows that the most influential factor is disaster socialization and training (weight 0.540), followed by the presence of fire stations (0.399), and the availability of water sources (0.061). The calculated capacity index ranges from 0.351 to 0,890. The capacity index results show 6 districts with a high level of capacity, 7 districts with medium capacity, and 4 districts with a low level of capacity. The integration of hazard, vulnerability, and capacity maps produced a residential fire disaster risk map. Six districts (35.29%) fall into the high-risk category: Sedayu, Pajangan, Bambanglipuro, Jetis, Imogiri, and Pleret. Nine districts (52.94%) are classified as medium risk: Kasihan, Sewon, Piyungan, Dlingo, Pandak, Srandakan, Sanden, Kretek, and Pundong. Meanwhile, two districts (11.77%) are categorized as low risk: Bantul and Banguntapan.
