Perancangan Dan Design Improvement Welding Fixture Untuk Pengelasan Nut Pada Part Bracket Mud Guard

PT X sebagai produsen komponen otomotif mengalami masalah defect pada proses pengelasan nut pada part bracket mud guard yang diakibatkan penurunan kualitas yang berpengaruh pada penurunan fungsi alat bantu, yaitu welding fixture. Penurunan kualitas welding fixture diakibatkan oleh paparan percikan las (spatter) yang menempel pada permukaan fixture dan sistem clamp yang kurang maksimal mengakibatkan penurunan kekuatan penjepitan. Oleh sebab itu, dilakukan perancangan dan improvement design welding fixture untuk pengelasan nut pada part bracket mud guard. Tujuan perancangan dan improvement design welding fixture ini untuk memperbaiki sistem penjepitan clamp dan juga mengurangi spatter pada permukaan welding fixture serta mengetahui kekuatan struktur stopper pada hasil design welding fixture. Metode penelitian menggunakan bantuan software CAD untuk membuat design welding fixture dan untuk melakukan simulasi analisis design stopper welding fixture. Hasil improvement pada penelitian ini berupa design welding fixture dengan dimensi 300 x 150 x 50 mm menggunakan material ASTM A36, penambahan stopper dan guide pin serta penggunaan toggle clamp horizontal (kapasitas 3000 N) dan hasil analisis simulasi stopper pada design ini diketahui von mises 22.015 Mpa, displacement 0,005 mm, dan safety factor 11.356. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi analisis stopper welding fixture dinyatakan aman.
PT X as an automotive component manufacturer, is experiencing defects in the nut welding process on the mud guard bracket part, caused by a decline in quality that affects the function of the auxiliary tool, namely the welding fixture. The decline in the quality of the welding fixture is caused by the exposure to welding spatter that adheres to the surface of the fixture and the suboptimal clamping system, resulting in reduced clamping strength. Therefore, the design and improvement of the welding fixture for nut welding on the mud guard bracket part were carried out. The purpose of the design and improvement of the welding fixture is to enhance the clamp gripping system, reduce spatter on the surface of the welding fixture, and determine the strength of the stopper structure in the welding fixture design. The research method uses CAD software to create the welding fixture design and to perform simulation analysis of the welding fixture stopper design. The improvement results in this study include a welding fixture design with dimensions of 300 x 150 x 50 mm using ASTM A36 material, the addition of a stopper and guide pin, as well as the use of a horizontal toggle clamp (capacity 3000 N). The simulation analysis results for the stopper in this design show a von Mises stress of 22.015 MPa, a displacement of 0.005 mm, and a safety factor of 11.356. Based on the results of the stopper welding fixture analysis simulation, it is declared safe.
