Inequality in development performance between districts and cities is part of the problems that often continue to occur in the Central Java Province area even though the implementation of development has been carried out for a long time. This is evident through the high value of the Human Development Index in urban areas compared to district administrative areas. The difference in the HDI scores of urban areas contrasts sharply with the HDI scores of districts. Salatiga City is one of the administrative areas that managed to have higher levels of values in 2012 and 2022 at 79.1 and 84.35 respectively. Brebes District had the lowest HDI values in 2012 and 2022 at 60.92 and 67.03, respectively. Sourced from a number of existing root causes, it is necessary to specifically review through spatial autocorrelation the HDI value of Central Java Province, so that it can be known in detail about the distribution and existence of the influence of HDI figures in a region on its closest region.
This study uses the spatial autocorrelation analysis method both in global and local scope to determine the distribution pattern of HDI values in the coverage area of Central Java Province in 2012 and 2022. Spatial autocorrelation in global scope is analyzed through Moran index while spatial autocorrelation in local scope uses Local Indicator of Spatial Autocorrelation. The results of the autocorrelation analysis in the global scope obtained a Moran index value of 0.248 and 0.2147 which shows the value of I>0, so there is a positive autocorrelation which indicates that there is a clustering pattern in HDI values that have similar values. The results of spatial autocorrelation testing using LISA in 2012 explained the existence of two Hotspot clusters, namely Boyolali and Sukoharjo districts, and four Coldspot clusters consisting of Pekalongan, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara and Wonosobo districts. In 2022, there was a reduction in the number of Hotspot clusters to one region, namely Sukoharjo Regency, and the addition of one Coldspot cluster, namely Banyumas Regency.
