DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM IN SELECTING THE BEST RENT PLACE USING THE AHP AND TOPSIS METHODS

Yogyakarta dikenal sebagai kota pelajar, yang menarik banyak orang dari berbagai daerah untuk menempuh pendidikan. Namun, mencari kos yang sesuai merupakan tantangan bagi para pelajar, yang harus mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor seperti keamanan, jarak ke universitas, fasilitas, harga, dan tipe kamar. Diperlukan sistem yang andal untuk membantu mereka membuat keputusan yang tepat.

Penelitian ini mengusulkan pengembangan Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) untuk membantu mahasiswa dalam memilih opsi sewa terbaik. Sistem ini akan menggunakan dua metode: Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) dan Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). AHP akan menentukan bobot kriteria keputusan, membantu memprioritaskan kepentingannya, sementara TOPSIS akan mengevaluasi opsi perumahan berdasarkan kriteria ini.

Kombinasi AHP dan TOPSIS efektif untuk konteks ini karena kekuatan keduanya yang saling melengkapi. AHP memungkinkan mahasiswa untuk memprioritaskan preferensi, sementara TOPSIS menyediakan pendekatan terstruktur untuk menilai alternatif. Bersama-sama, keduanya memastikan mahasiswa mengidentifikasi kos yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Dengan mengintegrasikan metode-metode ini, sistem yang diusulkan bertujuan untuk membantu mahasiswa dalam menemukan perumahan yang sesuai di Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta is known as a student city, attracting many people from various regions to pursue education. However, finding suitable dormitories/boarding houses is a challenge for these students, who must consider factors such as safety, distance to the university, facilities, price, and room type. A reliable system is needed to help them make informed decisions.

This research proposes the development of a Decision Support System (DSS) to assist students in selecting the best rental options. This system will utilize two methods: the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). AHP will determine the weights of decision criteria, helping to prioritize their importance, while TOPSIS will evaluate housing options based on these criteria.

The combination of AHP and TOPSIS is effective for this context due to their complementary strengths. AHP allows students to prioritize their preferences, while TOPSIS provides a structured approach for assessing alternatives. Together, they ensure students identify dorms/boarding houses that align with their needs. By integrating these methods, the proposed system aims to help students find suitable accommodation in Yogyakarta.
