Japan expanded into northern countries, which were Manchuria, Mongolia, and Siberia. At the time of Japan's view to the north, Japan negotiated economic trade with Southern countries including Indonesia. However, because the expansion to the north was not successful, Japan changed its approach from peaceful trade negotiations to military expansion. One of the expansion carried out was an air raid on Jakarta.
Jakarta was a leading city, a center of trade, and a hub of international relations. With its important position, Jakarta became a target for Japan to carry out airstrikes to control Indonesia. Before carrying out airstrikes, Japan conducted peace negotiations with Indonesia. However, these efforts were unsuccessful because Indonesia chose the United Kingdom and United States.
Indonesia conducts air defense cooperation with United Kingdom and United States. Cooperation was carried out several times. Meanwhile, the Jakarta government protected and educated its people on how to protect themselves so that when a Japanese air raid occurred they could prepare themselves.
In the conquest of Indonesia, including Jakarta, Japanese air attacks on Indonesia were carried out in several stages. Japan had a well-thought-out plan and execution to Indonesia, especially Jakarta, causing the collapse of Indonesia as a Dutch colony and Japan to lead Indonesia.
