MODERASI BERAGAMA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA PERSPEKTIF KESATUAN AGAMA-AGAMA FRITHJOF SCHUON

Penelitian berjudul “Moderasi Beragama Mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada Perspektif Kesatuan Agama-Agama Frithjof Schuon”. Didasari pada temuan penelitian bahwa mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada terpapar wacana gerakan keagamaan eksklusif. Sementara itu, moderasi beragama sebagai kebijakan nasional Republik Indonesia yang diatur dalam peraturan presiden dan peraturan kementerian agama memberikan amanat kepada perguruan tinggi untuk dapat menciptakan lingkungan kampus yang berlandaskan moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini mengintegrasikan pendekatan Frithjof Schuon tentang konsep kesatuan agamaagama dalam implementasi moderasi beragama mahasiswa UGM. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian filosofis yang dilakukan melalui jenis penelitian kualitatif. Pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu telaah sumber kepustakaan yang relevan terkait kesatuan agama-agama dan moderasi beragama. Kemudian melakukan triangulasi data wawancara purposive sampling dengan 6 mahasiswa dengan latar belakang agama berbeda yang aktif dalam unit kerohanian di UGM dan dialog lintas iman, observasi terhadap kegiatan lintas agama di lingkungan UGM dan dokumentasi yang berkaitan dengan praktik moderasi beragama di lingkungan UGM. Data dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah; (1)memperoleh penjelasan konsep kesatuan agamaagama Frithjof Schuon, (2)memperoleh pemahaman moderasi beragama sebagai kebijakan nasional Republik Indonesia dan (3)memperoleh pengetahuan moderasi beragama mahasiswa UGM menggunakan sembilan kata kunci moderasi beragama untuk kemudian ditinjau dari perspektif kesatuan agama-agama Frithjof Schuon. Berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan mahasiswa UGM menunjukkan sikap moderat yang sejalan dengan sembilan kata kunci moderasi beragama. Terlihat pada pemahaman kehidupan beragama, toleransi, dan keikutsertaan mahasiswa dalam berbagai kegiatan yang bernafaskan moderasi beragama seperti forum diskusi lintas iman. Penelitian ini juga menemukan upaya universitas turut memperkuat ekosistem moderasi beragama di lingkungan kampus. Melalui kerangka kesatuan agama-agama Schuon, praktik moderasi beragama mahasiswa UGM bukan hanya sebagai bagian dari kebijakan formal, melainkan telah menjadi kesadaran spiritual individu yang mendalam.  

The research titled "Moderation in Religion Among Students of Gadjah Mada University from the Perspective of the Unity of Religions by Frithjof Schuon" is based on the research findings that students of Gadjah Mada University are exposed to discourses of exclusive religious movements. Meanwhile, religious moderation as a national policy of the Republic of Indonesia is regulated in presidential regulations and regulations of the Ministry of Religion, which mandates higher education institutions to create a campus environment based on religious moderation. This research integrates Frithjof Schuon’s approach to the concept of the unity of religions in the implementation of religious moderation among UGM students. This research uses a philosophical research model conducted through qualitative research. The data collection used is a review of relevant literature related to the unity of religions and religious moderation. Then, data triangulation is carried out through purposive sampling interviews with 6 students from different religious backgrounds who are active in spiritual units at UGM and interfaith dialogue, observations of interfaith activities in the UGM environment, and documentation related to the practice of religious moderation in the UGM environment. The data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are: (1) to obtain an explanation of the concept of religious unity by Frithjof Schuon, (2) to gain an understanding of religious moderation as a national policy of the Republic of Indonesia, and (3) to acquire knowledge of the religious moderation of UGM students using nine key terms of religious moderation, which will then be examined from the perspective of the concept of religious unity according to Frithjof Schuon. Based on the data collected, UGM students exhibit a moderate attitude that aligns with the nine key terms of religious moderation. This is evident in their understanding of religious life, tolerance, and student participation in various activities that resonate with religious moderation, such as interfaith discussion forums. This study also finds that the university's efforts contribute to strengthening the ecosystem of religious moderation on campus. Through Schuon's framework of religious unity, the practice of religious moderation among UGM students is not only part of formal policy but has also become a profound individual spiritual awareness.
