Keagenan Tokoh Matara dalam Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi Karya Okky Madasari: Pendekatan Teori Agensi Maria Nikolajeva

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk agensi tokoh Matara dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya serta posisi narator dalam cerita pada novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi karya Okky Madasari. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori agensi Maria Nikolajeva untuk menganalisis bentuk agensi pada tokoh Matara dan faktor yang memengaruhi agensi Matara, serta teori bantu naratologi Gerard Genette, yaitu konsep mood dan voice untuk menganalisis posisi dan suara narator dalam cerita. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksplanatif kualitatif untuk menjelaskan hubungan sebab-akibat keagenan tokoh anak dalam karya anak dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keagenan Matara dalam perspektif Maria Nikolajeva pada karya Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi karya Okky Madasari. Data-data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan cara: (1) pengumpulan data, (2) klasifikasi data, (3) analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk agensi Matara adalah semi agensi. Penentuan agensi ini didasarkan pada empat indikator, yaitu subjektivitas, kemandirian, relasi tokoh anak dengan tokoh dewasa, dan pengaruhnya terhadap alur. Sementara itu, alasan agensi tokoh Matara berbentuk semi agensi karena dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal, eksternal, dan posisi serta suara narator dalam cerita. Faktor internal terdiri dari faktor kepribadian tokoh, pengalaman, dan konflik batin. Di sisi lain, faktor eksternal yang berperan signifikan dalam memengaruhi agensi Matara adalah wacana otoritas dewasa, wacana keluarga, wacana pendidikan, dan wacana tokoh pendukung. Namun, apabila melihat indikator-indikator tersebut, agensi Matara tampak penuh, tapi dalam prosesnya yang membuat agensi tersebut menjadi semi agensi. Matara seolah tampak bebas, tetapi masih dalam bingkai orang dewasa atau aetonormativitas. Sementara, posisi narator yang mahatahu berada di luar cerita dan suaranya “dititipkan” pada tokoh Molu. 

This study aims to determine the form of agency of the character Matara and the factors that influence it and the position of the narrator in the story in the novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi by Okky Madasari. This study uses Maria Nikolajeva's agency theory to analyze the form of agency in the character Matara and the factors that influence Matara's agency, as well as Gerard Genette's narratology supporting theory, namely the concept of mood and voice to analyze the position and voice of the narrator in the story. The method used is a qualitative explanatory method to explain the causal relationship of the agency of child characters in children's works and the factors that influence Matara's agency in Maria Nikolajeva's perspective in the work Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi by Okky Madasari. The data in this study were collected by: (1) data collection, (2) data classification, (3) data analysis. The results of the study indicate that the form of Matara's agency is semi-agency. The determination of this agency is based on four indicators, namely subjectivity, independence, the relationship between child characters and adult characters, and its influence on the plot. Meanwhile, the reason Matara's character agency is in the form of a semi-agency developing into a full agency is because it is influenced by internal and external factors, and the position and voice of the narrator in the story. Internal factors consist of the character's personality, experience, and inner conflict. On the other hand, external factors that significantly influence Matara's agency are the discourse of adult authority, family discourse, educational discourse, and supporting character discourse. However, when considering these indicators, Matara's agency appears to be full, but the process that makes it semi-agency is evident. Matara seems free but remains within the framework of adult norms or heteronormativity. Meanwhile, the omniscient narrator's position is outside the story, and their voice is “entrusted” to the character Molu.
